HOUSTON (AP) -- Cooper Industries Ltd., which makes and sells electrical products and tools, said Wednesday it bought three privately held companies for a total of $100 million. The company purchased Oregon-based Sure Power Industries Inc., which makes battery isolators, equalizers and converters. Cooper acquired Omnex Control Systems ULC, based in British Columbia, Canada. The company makes radio remote control products for the construction and heavy equipment markets as well as industrial wireless networking systems. Cooper also bought Virginia-based Roam Secure Inc., which provides emergency text alert systems and other information notification technology. Cooper expects combined 2007 sales of $62 million for the three companies. Cooper Industries had 2006 revenues of $5.2 billion, about 85 percent of which came from electrical products.
