BRYN MAWR, Pa. (AP) -- Water utility holding company Aqua America Inc. said Wednesday its Indiana unit bought wastewater company Western Hancock Utilities Inc. for a little more than $5 million. The acquisition gives Aqua access to a region east of Indianapolis that connects the city with Columbus, Ohio. Aqua said it will also invest more than $500,000 to create new interceptor sewer lines for Western Hancock. The Western Hancock transaction is the third acquisition Aqua closed in December. The company's other acquisitions include a municipal water system outside Kankakee, Ill. and the Lakeside Acres water system in Crawford County, Pa.
