WEST CHESTER, Ohio (AP) -- AK Steel will raise stainless-steel prices next week to offset higher costs for raw materials and energy, the company said Monday. AK Steel will raise prices for hot- and cold-rolled stainless steel sheet, strip, tubular quality and continuous mill plate products by 6 percent, or about $70 per ton, effective Nov. 12. In addition, the company will add a $245-per-ton surcharge on electrical steel products shipped in December. Shares of parent company AK Steel Holding Corp. fell 99 cents to $46.89 in morning trading.
