NEW YORK (AP) -- Romantic comedy "The Heartbreak Kid" could rake in between $25 million to $30 million in weekend ticket sales, an analyst said. BMO Capital Markets analyst Jeffrey B. Logsdon expects "The Heartbreak Kid," from Viacom Inc.'s studios, to generate $25 million to $30 million in weekend ticket sales, and projects "The Seeker," from News Corp.'s film division, will pull in between $10 million and $15 million. In the comparable year-ago weekend, "The Departed" took in $27 million, while "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" generated $19 million in revenue. The films came from the Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema studios, respectively. Both are Time Warner Inc. units. Box office revenue fell 9.2 percent last weekend -- the first weekend of the fourth quarter, according to Thomas Weisel analyst Gordon Hodge. He expects strong upcoming movies to boost fourth-quarter attendance.
