HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) -- Nova Scotia's health minister says he hopes doctors who work in the intensive care units of the province's rural hospitals don't make good on a threat to walk out on Monday. Chris d'Entremont says government has put an offer on the table and is waiting to hear back from Doctors Nova Scotia. In the meantime he says the government is putting contingency plans in place to cover facilities in Bridgewater and Cumberland County. D'Entremont says he's confident that sufficient staff could be found to run both units. The rural doctors are demanding parity with their urban counterparts.
