SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- PlanetOut Inc., a media company that serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, said Thursday it named Dan E. Steimle, 59, interim chief financial officer and senior vice president. Before PlanetOut, Steimle founded CSL Consulting and worked as interim CFO for various early-stage businesses. Steimle replaces Daniel J. Miller. Miller had planned to leave the company as of Sept. 30, PlanetOut said in an August filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Company spokesman Kevin Nyland said at the time that Miller was leaving "to pursue another career opportunity."
