ZEELAND, Mich. (AP) -- Herman Miller Inc. on Tuesday named Paget Alves as a member of its board of directors. Alves will join the board of the furniture retailer at its September meeting. His term will run through 2009. Alves currently serves as regional president of the South region for Sprint Nextel Corp. Shares of Herman Miller added 16 cents to $26.69 in afternoon trading.
