FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) -- The president of Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday that the Japanese automaker was not interested in buying Chrysler from DaimlerChrysler AG earlier this year and would not consider the company now either. In a roundtable discussion with reporters on the sidelines of the Frankfurt auto show, Katusaki Watanabe said Toyota was not interested in Chrysler LLC, most of which was acquired by private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management LP in August. "I have no interest," he said. Instead, he said, Toyota would focus on its engine and vehicle technology collaborations with Isuzu Motors Ltd. and Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., which he described as "the best approach" for the automaker.
