LONDON (AP) -- The U.S. dollar was mostly higher against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold rose. The euro was quoted at $1.3806, down from $1.3808 late Monday in New York. Other dollar rates: --113.66 Japanese yen, up from 113.56 --1.1871 Swiss francs, up from 1.1865 --1.0473 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0525 The British pound was quoted at $2.0285, down from $2.0329. Gold traded in London at $704.25 per troy ounce, up from $701.60 late Monday. In Zurich, gold traded at $702.50 bid per troy ounce, up from $700.65. Gold rose 20 cents in Hong Kong to $704.85. Silver opened in London at $12.51, up from $12.49.
